Gmail was launched for the general public on 1 April 2004. Gmail is controlled by Google. Gmail is a free service provided by Google which is operational worldwide through the Internet. Gmail is used by every person who needs to send messages from one place to another. You can also call it online messaging. Gmail ID is created for every user who uses Gmail. Google gives 15 GB storage to the Gmail user on every Gmail account. So today we will learn in detail about the use of Gmail and how Gmail is used.
1. Schedule Mail
Schedule mail is a specialty of Gmail in which Gmail gives you the facility to send any message in the future at any time. We can schedule the sending time of any message in advance. This will mean that if we have to send a Gmail in future, if we prepare it now and enter the time in it, then it will go at that time only, the time in future which you have scheduled.
Steps:- First of all open the Gmail, enter the information (address/Gmail) of the person to whom we want to send the message, then go to the arrow next to send and from there decide the time for the scheduled mail. Here you have to fill the time and date when the other person should receive the mail.
2. Confidential mail
Gmail also gives the facility to keep the sent mail confidential. You can neither take a print out of the sent mail nor can you send it to anyone else. No one can download the confidential mail. This ensures that the message sent to you reaches the right person and the confidential information remains confidential.
Use: First of all, you have to create your message which you want to forward. Then when you want to forward the message, you will see an icon near the send place below. You have to click on it. On clicking, confidential mode will open. Now in this, you can set the last date of the message and can also give a password so that no one can open or see the mail.
3. Snooze Mail
Snooze means that you want to see your incoming mail later and not now. This will happen just like you snooze the alarm to ring after some time, this also works in the same way on mail. With this you can extend the time of the mail whenever we want to see that mail.
Use: Right click on the mail which you want to snooze. Then some options will open in which you will also see the snooze option. After clicking on it, it will ask for pick date time, then whatever time you find right, fix the time accordingly. With this, now you will get that mail whenever you want to see it and it will tell you itself in the notification.
4. Undo Email
This trick is used when we send a mail. As soon as we send a mail to someone, we remember that we forgot to add some information or someone in the mail or have entered the wrong address in it, then for this we get the facility of undo i.e. to take back the sent mail, but this facility is provided by Google, this function is for 5 seconds by default, we can increase it from 5 seconds to 10, 20 or 30 seconds, so that we can stop the sent mail from being sent before 30 seconds.
Use: To use it, you have to go to settings, then in general you will see the option of undo send, from there you can change its type duration.
5. Signature In Email
The trick in this is that whether you have an office or any business, it must have a logo or signature, which you cannot type in the mail again and again, that is, whenever you have to send a mail, you will have to type the details of your company or office in the mail, so to avoid this, you should use the signature feature, this will ensure that you will not have to type the information of your company or office again and again. Whenever you open your mail, your company’s full details will be automatically shown to you.
Use: First of all go to the mail, then go to the settings, then you will see the signature option, from there you can create your signature, you can add the logo or company details in it.
6. Vacation
his option is useful when we have to go on vacation and we get a mail from behind which we are unable to see and we have to reply too. This is the option by which you can reply without even seeing the mail. This mail will tell in the reply that you are on vacation and how to contact you. In this option you can also give your number by which they can call and as soon as you come back from vacation, you can turn off this feature.

7. CC/BCC
CC : Carbon Copy
BCC : Black Carbon Copy
CC (Carbon Copy)
CC is used when you want to send a copy of an email to another person who is not included in the main email. The person added to CC gets a copy of the email. The person added to CC is not included in the email. But they are aware of the email.
BCC (Black Carbon Copy)
BCC is used when you want to send a copy of an email to another person without any other recipient knowing. The person added to Bcc gets a copy of the email. The name of the person added to BCC is not visible to other recipients. The person added to BCC is not included in the email and other recipients are not even aware of this.
8. Labels
We can also call label as folder in simple language. Just like we need a separate folder for everything, similarly you can create folders on Gmail according to category which Gmail calls labels.
Use: First of all go to settings, then from there label option will be shown near general. When you go to label then you will see many labels there, out of which you can keep whichever label you want to keep, you can remove the ones you don’t want to keep (show / hide). When you come down in it then you will see create label, in that you can create label according to your requirement.
Now whatever label you have created you have to do that, so when you go to any mail and right click on it then you will see label option there, now you can put whichever mail you want to put in label/folder
9. Text Formatting

It will work on the words that you have typed in the mail, whether you change the font of the text, make it bold, reduce its size, italicize it, underline it, change the text color, change the alignment, number the list, make a bulleted list, indent it, and much more.
10. Smart Link
Many times while sending an email we have to insert a link and we directly paste it but this is awkward. We will use a different method of inserting the link which is called Smart Linking.
For that first we will type whatever we want to mail and then wherever we want to insert the link or the word on which we want to insert it, we will select that and then below you will see the option of Insert Link, as soon as you click on it, the text which you have selected in text to Display will be displayed and insert the link in the web address and click on okay, this will insert the link in the text.
11. Canned response (Templet)
Many a times it happens that you send the same message everyday then you have to either type it or copy it. To avoid doing this again and again, Gmail has introduced template feature. For its solution you can create canned mail/template mail, this way you will not have to type mail again and again.
Trick: For that you have to go to settings, then go to advanced and you have to enable template. Now whenever you type mail, after that go to 3 dots, there you will get template option from where you can make it a template. After making template, save and draft it. Now whenever you write a mail, you will get this mail like draft mail or like any template. To select template, go to 3 dots in mail and select template from there.
